Dear Friends of Clownfish Swim Club,

We are excited to be in Clownfish’s 20th year as an organization due to the generous support and commitment of parents, friends, athletes, coaches, volunteers, and the community. The benefits of swimming are life-long and range from safety, to health and wellness, to therapy and rehabilitation, and to the thrill of competition. Over the 20 year period, we have provided more than 2000 hours of these benefits to our swimmers.

On February 3, 2024, the Clownfish Swim Club is excited to be hosting the Swim-A-Rama fundraiser. Every contribution means greater success for all of our Clownfish Swim Club programs. For example, funds raised will provide financial assistance for our summer program, assist in the development and retention of our coaches, as well as volunteers, and support equipment purchases and more swimming hours to our members.

Even more important than building-out our programs is the formation of healthy habits, strength, and discipline for our swimmers. Your financial contribution will be an investment in the lives of so many in our community. Thank you for your consideration and support!

SCHEDULE

Welcome to the 2024 Clownfish Swim Club Swim-A-Rama! Our Swim-A-Rama is a fundraiser where participants earn money by swimming a certain length in yards in 30 minutes in the pool. Swimmers get pledges from friends, family and neighbors to support their efforts. Clownfish Swim-A-Rama is 30 minutes because this is the endurance swim that members regularly swim. We keep records and each time the Clownfish sets higher goals to improve their performance. So we'll all be swimming 30 minutes to support Clownfish.

Clownfish Swim Club Swim-A-Rama will take place on :

Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 

from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Aquajets Aquatic Center.

Besides swimming laps, the day will include fun relays, games, and PRIZES! Appetizers, food and drinks will be provided at no charge to swimmers and their families after practice. 

Swimmers will participate during the following time slots:

Group Time

Clownfish 4:00-5:00 pm

Volunteers, coaches, parents 5:00-6:00 pm

INCENTIVES

Each swimmer that participates will receive a Clownfish T-shirt!

Each swimmer that collects $100 or more receives a $25 AMC gift card!

Each swimmer that collects $250 or more receives a bowling package!

There will be prizes for Swim-A-Rama participants on the event day.

Allow us the opportunity to tell you a story about a young boy with autism, who came to us unsure of himself in the water. He saw other kids, some younger, in the refreshing pool (we use that term rather than “cold”) swimming laps. He was having some difficulty coordinating arms, legs and breathing but with some coaxing by our great coaching staff he started to swim. That was 20 years ago, when we first started the Clownfish Swim Club for kids with special needs. That same boy became one of our fastest swimmers, mastering beautiful strokes; he even lettered on his high school swim team for excelling in swimming. He completed college and is now successful in a professional career. He is still associated with the team. It's quite an accomplishment and we are very proud to have worked with him.

Our organization has accomplished much in 20 years as well. We currently have over 40 swimmers and run a year-round program with summer sessions. We do so on fees charged to parents and donations by generous folks like you.

We ask your help in supporting our 2nd Annual Swim-A-Rama Fundraising event, which will be held on February 3, 2024 at our training pool in Eden Prairie, MN. With your contribution, we can continue to help our young swimmers enjoy being on a team of peers and provide them with great coaching, safe pools to swim in, and scholarships for those families with financial need.
